I heard this approach will mess with your NAVI and it will take 5-30 seconds to re-aquire your position on the road accurately. I'm working on a NAVI bypass myself that won't mess with your NAVI and will let you watch video while driving too. Be done with it either this or the next weekend.

Yeah I've never heard of anyone waiting longer then 10 seconds and it is usually less then 5 seconds.

Watching video is a liability thing and you don't need a "module" to allow it, just some simple wiring modifications.

We don't support of publicize it because we don't want to be named in a lawsuit after someone kills someone else in a head on collision while watching video.

Yeah, I was looking for something that doesn't mess with the navi. I was able to develop a system which is turned on by a momentary push button switch and integrates into RGB of the navi therefore bypassing any video signal from the car and taking video directly from RCA jacks wich in turn gives me the option of watching my video while driving without the interruption of the navi. I wish I could get my hands on internal system files of the navi though...

Anybody know a way to get back the extra voice command features that were removed on the later o'8 and o'9 models?

If you're watching video why would it matter if your navi position was a bit off? There are easier ways to enable video while moving.

The navi reacquires your position in a couple of seconds as long as you are moving. 3-5 seconds in my opinion, definitely no where close to 10 seconds.

yeah, true. But it sucks if you are in DC and trying to switch between video/nav. 3-5 seconds means a missed turn to me. However, kp modules is a lot cheaper than my setup, it cost me $$$. I'm still trying to get my hands on internal system files on HDD

you do and don't have the point. ability to quickly switch and see my accurate position and then switch back to video is a must for me, it some cases it is useless and in others its a must. i'll give you 50/50
