Fog light and Clearance light?

So I was reading my manual and came across this:

(5) What are clearance lights? Do they ever come on? They're like tiny little bulbs...

As you can tell I'm looking to change my bulbs...

They are the dim lights that are on when your headlights are on.

No, that doesn't make sense... the fog lights are the bigger ones in the middle of, for lack of a better word, the "circle". There's a tiny little bulb that sits below the fog lights which I think is the clearance light.

I have DRL, so that means both bulbs and the HID are on? I'll check it out when I go home tonight!

I also noticed this:

There's another switch you can turn (I highlighted it) on the inner side that has the positions "Off" and a symbol that the manual doesn't explain. I tried it and it doesn't seem to do anything... anybody know?

I think those are the side marker lights, according to the manual (6).

Bah! My DRLs are currently routed to the fog lights... if I knew about the clearance lights I would've told the mechanic to route the DRL to them instead!

well the reason I said that is because when the fogs are set to off, it still shines or seems on but just dimmer.

the clearance lights are not strong enough to pass as DRL.
i am thinking about chaning my drl / fog lights to something more blue, that way i have a nice white from the HID and a blue from my fog.

I'm actually thinking about getting yellow ones for my fog lights... I love that look, especially on a white car!
