tried the Lexol today, its good stuff. Now all i have to do is think of the speech im going to give the guy at infiniti about how cheap this leather is and I want my seat replaced. Honestly if you think about it it is some cheap leather. I have a leather lazyboy type of chair in my living room, my dog gets on it and starts clawing at it with his nails, sort of like hes digging. He been doing this for 2 years and nothing has happened to it. But 3 or 4 months after getting my car the leather begins to peel because i get in contact with it when sitting? Thats BS.

I started looking really close at my leather as I was cleaning it the other day and I noticed that it too starting "peeling". Of course not that bad but still. I do like that it is soft but when the leather is peeling, there is definitely something wrong. Especially since I have consistently conditioned my leather. I barely have any cracking. I think I am going to tell Infiniti about this issue too!

see man, its not just about conditioning. Bottomline its just crappy leather. They better replace mine or im calling corporate right in front of them, you pay 40K+ for a car and expect it to have better leather than this.

Well, it took a year, but I'm now having the problem on both seats. Passenger seat is really bad - and somebody sits there only 5% of the time I drive it. Lokey emailed pictures to Infiniti, and I'm waiting to hear back.....

so its like a customer service email or what? I wonder if they see that its really a problem if theyll recall the seats, just fix whoever complains about them, or do nothing.

I am with you Laker. Since you dont condition your seats, you noticed it a lot sooner. But I had an 01 honda accord coupe before this and never had a problem with the seats. It took someone to point it out before I noticed it and this problem realy ticks me off. They need to recall the seats and fix this issue entirely. I love the feel of the leather but if it wont last than there is no point. And I dont do cloth, too stuffy.

The service department sent an email with pictures to infiniti customer service at corporate. According to my service guy, they have to get the OK from them to replace the seats under warranty. He told me he didn't know how many of the problem seats are being replaced.

There is no recall, and you have to complain about it, otherwise nothing gets done. They are probably saving big bucks avoiding a recall, and even if I get new seats (and I do condition/clean them) what are they going to look like in a year?

Yeah they will be the same, unless you freakin put covers on them or wear silk pants lol. But id rather have them replace it now than wait to see if they will recall it and put better leather in it.

i hope the new one doesnt have the same problem. I will definitely be more careful when entering my car, but i shouldnt have to worry so much in the first place.

That's real quick. My pictures were sent in right before the holidays, I figure nothing was probably done then. If I don't hear from them today, I'll be going back to the dealership on Monday...
