Window Roll-Up... WTF!

Ok, I just read that you can use the key to roll up the windows by holding it in the driver side lock. Good to know.

Is there any other way without started the f***ing car??? I can't believe how lame this is. I have had the car for less than a day an I am already incredibly annoyed that every time I get in I have to roll down both windows and open the sun-roof, and then every time I get out I have to manually close all 3 before turning the car off. With so many automatic features, how did Infiniti mess this up so bad?

I know you can roll down windows by holding unlock (which is practically useless since I never take the thing out of my pocket anyway)... so why the f*** can't I roll up the windows and close the sub-roof by holding the lock button???

Really I would like all 3 windows to just auto-close as when the car is locked by remote or door button. Makes perfect sense to me... why would I ever want to lock the car and leave the windows down???

Also, I would love to have remote engine start so I can warm up the car/cabin on cold mornings from inside my house. Has anyone found a way to do that with some aftermarket add-on or something?

o.k. you sort of answered your own questions as to why there isn't a roll up option stock on this car. why would you get out of the car, lock it, take out your remote and roll up the windows? why wouldn't you do all that as you are turning off the car? the roll down feature is for hot summer days when you want to release the greenhouse air that is trapped in the car--this makes sense to me at least--you don't have to sit in a hot car to roll down the windows. with that said, you can spend a little more time and money and call kp technologies who may have a modue made to roll up windows with the remote. i know they have this for the g35 as well as the auto passenger mirror tilt down in reverse.

wow how many times will this come up

if it's that big of a deal, you can stick your key in the door and hold the kit in the lock position for a few seconds, it will go up

Sorry... I did try to search first and found the key trick, but wondered if there was something else I missed. I just don't like having to hold 2 buttons on the door and one on the roof before turning off the car. I also wish I could press or hold one button to open all 3.

Thanks for the link to kp. I'll defiantly be getting that.

Look into the moon-roof mod too, this allows you to open/close all the windows and the roof or tilt it. GL.

This is not a solution to the auto close everything as you arm the car with the fob but you can do this.

Before you turn the car off hit the moonroof close button (no need to hold), then pull up on both windows button to auto roll up (no need to hold), then turn the car off immediately after. Just don't open the door after you turn the car off.

Hope this helps

1st, your windows still work when you shut the car off. I think there's a time limit and it also stops when you open the door like most cars.
2nd, you don't have to hold the buttons.
3rd, there are many options for remote starts. Here's what I did.
4th, I share your frustration. Overall, there's lots room for improvement in all automobiles.

^^^No kidding. I never roll down my windows and my sunshade is always closed on the sunroof. With auto climate control I see no need to ever roll down the windows (except when at a toll booth or something)....

LOL!

Sorry Dude, it's just funny to hear someone complain about having to hold a few electric switches for a few seconds to close his windows and a sunroof.

As someone who's first three cars didn't even have a/c (although they did have electric starters!), let alone power windows, I'm having a hard time sympathizing. Try hand cranking four windows, reaching across the car or having to insert a key to lock/unlock the doors, every day of your life. Hell, my first Honda Civic (1973) had a manual choke!

That being said, I've also bitched about no auto-locking doors, tilting side mirrors when backing-up, and other insignificant things.

Welcome to the forum. You've made a great choice in cars which I beleive will make you happy for years. Focus on the positive and enjoy life.

I don't think RPMsG37 is nitpicking. Acepting the many nuisences and using excuses like "no other car does that" just leads us to mediocrity.

And speaking of Honda's, I was able to open and lock the door with one hand my in my 1983 prelude. You have to put the lock somewhere, why not somewhere you can reach it with the same hand you're pulling the handle with. It's just common sense.

NOTE: Now that I know you don't have to hold the switches it is a lot better :P
