Hey those aren't bad for ~$35, my keyhole doesn't really stand out all that much (Blue Slate). How easy is it to pop off if the battery would die?

I was gonna say you could always pop the trunk, but I see the G doesn't have a hidden key entry like my M35x does.

My dealer told me that the ikey should always have enough power to unlock the doors (unless damaged), but may not have enough to be used to start the car. Not sure if that was BS, but I'm not too worried about it. I'm sure you'd know well in advance before the battery is going to crap out.

If anything, you could probably call Infiniti Roadside Assistance and see if the tow truck driver has a screwdriver, or any store nearby for that matter

That's BS.

I had a problem on my M35x where due to some strange circumstances all power was killed only 4 months after having the car. No juice in the battery, no connection issues, nothing. I could not get into the car without using the key. Furthermore, I could not get into the trunk had it not been for the hidden key slot.

Once Infiniti roadside assistance was able to get on to the grounds of the classified facility where I was parked a simple jumpstart got the car going again. Never had another problem with the battery, connections, power, or anything.

Infiniti said it was some sort of "gremlin."

You can almost pull the keyhole cover off by hand. No big deal at all if the battery dies.

I thought that was the case too when I first installed it, but it turns out that the cover wasn't pushed all the way in until it clicked over the clip. So if you're able to pull it off by hand, I'd advise you check to see that it was installed properly, else it might fall off when you slam the door or something.
