Leather Quality

I really think that the interior in the G37 is great, but with all of the improvements made from the G35, I'm a little dissappointed in the quality of the leather. I've only had the car for a month now and I don't really drive around that much, and the leather is already showing some wear. I highly doubt that it's me since i'm really light. I don't know if it's because this is my first time having black leather. I had willow in my G35, but the leather in that car seemed to hold up better than the G37.

The leather in the new G is excellent! I've actually had a lot of my father's friends say to me when I would show them my car the interior is wrapped very nicely, from people who drive Maserati's, Bentley etc.. For those of you that have had a G35 you know that the new interior is far superior, there will hopefully be no wrinkling of the seats. The Gs leather is far better than any car I've had and practically any I have been in.

OP, I know what you mean. The black does show wrinkles more than the light color. My 04 G35C had the wheat interior. With that said, the actual quality of the leather is very nice. You just have to take care of it with a decent conditioner.

I clicked the wrong button in the poll. I click the second one when i meant to click could be better. While the leather is nice no doubt it is not by any means great quality. It is sub par for the car in my opinion. Go to any BMW dealer and sit in any car with Full leather and you will understand...

I really wish that Infiniti would have stitched the leather a bit more tightly on the seat or even made the seat a little bit stiffer. I know it's a luxury car, but it's supposed to be a luxury sports car. My friend owns an aftermarket shop and a speed shop that has a lot of sports cars coming through it, so I always sit in most of the cars that are there when I stop by. I really like the way that the leather feels in porcshe and even bmw, and how they can have nice leather that feels soft, but yet stitched pretty tight.

I was really pleased at how the perforated leather breathes. I don't get the "swamp a$$" from it that I get from watching an hour of TV on a leather sofa. The seats, at least in the sport version, feel really great and have so many adjustment options that I can't imagine someone unable to find comfort there.

As far as resilience goes, I hope I got a good cow.

I've seen some recommendations for expensive leather conditioner on here. Any reco's for some conditioner that is reasonably priced?

I was given a perma plate kit from my dealer which included a bottle of leatherguard renewer and I applied 2 coats of it to the entire interior and my leather looks much better. It looked dry and dull before, but now it looks dark and vibrant, there is a definite WOW factor when people look in my car at the interior now. I'm sure any other leather cleaner/protectant will do the same. I did have to do the 2 coats though, because after one there were some spots I missed that made it look stained, but after the 2nd coat my leather looks unreal.

Definate has a terrific fit, finish, and quality. For comparison, check out the leather in the IS350....feels so smooth and plasticy/plether'ish.

My G37S seats feel like a baseball glove. Nice stuff!

And the good news, is that if they wear out prematurely, Infinity will replace them!
