well, i ordered mine, i dont have it yet.. but here is my opinion on the item i dont yet have: it's a flashlight! meaning that you wont be using it to take a shower with, cook your food, and as a nightlight all night long. if you actually need to use this, do you feel you will ever need it for more than 20 mins? i'm sure it'll be fine.
Couldn't I just buy a small flashlight with a long life battery and led light and leave it in my glovebox? Kind of like I've been doing for the last ten or fifteen years. Oh, and whenever I go into the glovebox to get something out, I am reminded to see if my little flashlight battery is still good.
No doubt this light is really neat, but if the battery will be dead when I need it, do I really need this flashlight? Remember the story about how the U.S. spent millions to develop a pen which would write in zero gravity, and the Russians just used pencils.
If, otoh, the battery does not discharge when the car is off, meaning it does not charge every time I drive, then I am so there, and will get a bunch for myself and family.

Just wondering if there is enough room to close the cover if I pull the flashlight up, after it is fully charged, so the bottom no longer touched the element and the flashlight does not charge/discharge as I drive/park?

Something to watch-out for when buying for others, make sure they have a standard sized cigarette-lighter. I bought one for my wife's MDX, but it will not work as the "Power Outlet" as it's called in the Acura is to large.

It's a fun story that could have easily been true, but it's not:

Paul Fischer left Parker, I assume for other reasons, and started his own pen company. He wanted to perfect the pressurized pen, and by the time he did so NASA was now in need of such a pen. I am pretty sure NASA paid a lot more than the $15 I pay for my Bullet space pens.

just got mine today. that thing is BRIGHT! (i got black)
it has 3 settings, on, charge, and off. so you choose when it charges.
you CAN leave this in your CLA and NOT have it charging.
