Dynamat complete.....

My dynamat was installed today....the installer used approx. 75 sq. ft. of material and it is much quieter and made a big difference....between the sub and the dynamat I'm done for a while....

I think i would just spot dynamat to keep it from being so heavy... where were the most rattles?

No rattles....just road noise, especially when the road was wet at highway speeds. As far as the added weight I really don't think I would notice an extra 40 lbs or so....it's not a motocross bike or a formula 1.........each to his own....

40lbs is not to bad. Just make sure if you hve a passenger they are light.

Chuck the spare and you will be back to normal. The spare is the first thing to go when I do my amps install.

I reeaaaallly want to ditch the spare for my amps but a flat tire on a cross state drive wouldn't be worth it.

couldn't you bring a small can of fix a flat and a small air compressor and get a new tire when your back home?

Yeah, but 3-4 hours for service to show up, plus whatever is needed to fix the problem takes a lot longer than the 15 minutes for me to change the tire.

what is dynamat and whats it for? how much did it cost?

Edit: I just visited their FAQs so I know what it is

I am just wondering what the main pros are?
--Is it just to keep the interior of the car quieter from road noise?
--Does it cancel out engine noise too cause I kind of like engine noise and just DISLIKE road noise. Can Dynamat help me keep engine/exhaust noise the same but road noise less by only applying on certain parts?
--Also is it true my stereo even with the Bose Infiniti on Wheels will sounds better and richer with Dynamat? Keep in mind I don't have an aftermarket sub - just the Bose Infi on Wheels OEM setup

Dynamat tends to give you richer sound especially for bass. It stops rattling that happens from vibrations and also helps to seal the sound within your vehicle. It can help help on road noice but to be honest I have never used it for that purpose. I use it around the area where you insert your speakers and along the trunk area if you have a sub. The better the seal you have, the better the bass reflection you get. Nothing worse then hearing the trunk rattle as your bass hits.

I got my trunk and both doors dynomated. Less road noise and the system kicks so much ***.

I'm currently planning to built an amp cage behind the rear seats. I have one mounted behind the seats and the other mounted on the sub box.

Dynamat............

Cost is certainly dependent on material and labor. Ballpark $300 material and $500 labor would be a good start...........I tried downloading some pictures but I ended up with a message saying the files were too big....any ideas for a computer neophyte??I do feel the dynamat made a big difference....bang for the buck??
