Interior side door handles suck!

I saw a review a couple days ago and the test driver said he liked the G37 interior, with the exception of the side door handle that gets easily scratched (the smooth aluminum strip where the texture is slightly different from the washi aluminum everywhere else). He put a huge gash on the side somehow and it looked horrible. Yesterday, I was driving my car and looked at my own door handle. Sure enough, I did have a couple knicks on mine as well. Good thing they're barely noticeable, but I can already imagine the things that could happen to it...maybe a jacket zipper or something...?

I want to get some sort of clear layer on there to protect it (like a clear bra). Has anyone done this, or know of any products that would work well for this application?

They are commonly scratched, even on the V35 / CV35...

Your dealer may warranty it for you give it a try...

seems like a great idea. I know on the older G coupes (G35) that same strip used to get banged up alot.

Anyone interested if I were to get them colormatched to the exterior?

Just think what it's doing to your watch. I used a wide clear packing tape. I asked about replacements at the dealer and they are inexpensive (don't remember how much, just that it was insignificant).

I replaced the door handle covers on my G35 and they were only $60 each.
These may be slightly more expensive though since they are of higher quality materials than the G35

Needed too

Does anyone have a link where these can be purchased. Mine are scratched also. Dealer wants over 100 for both. IMO they should have been washi. If someone were to upgrade them they could make some money.

x eleventy billion. They would have looked great in the same texture as the metal on the dash and console. If not, then they should have just been the same vinyl texture as the rest of the door handle, but certainly not the soft plastic they are made of. My watch and ring scratch it very easily.
