Amber Be Gone

One pet peeve I have on the G37 is the Amber in the front headlights... i saw the shot somewhere on the boards of a SEMA G37 with the headlights having been replaced. The front end looks way better IMO without that amber!!

Anyway to get the amber outta the headlights without buying new headlights.... i.e. does it disassemble somehow?

x-vert , on g35driver and g35nyc has been doing a lot of G's and other cars so he's a big expertise on baking these headlights open. he's going to do my girlfriend's G37 headlights soon and paint them black.

Yes this is the only way I know of to Open the Sticky OEM Seal and to Take part the Headlight, and than you have to seal it back up properly or else it will fog up or get water in there

mayor.. please post pics when the conversion is done as i'd love to see it.

Wow.. so literally in the oven huh lol... would i just go with an amber bulb for the turn signals after having the amber piece removed?

I see cars all the time with no amber in the lights. What exactly is illegal?

As long as your bulbs are Amber you should be ok, so taking the Amber Strip out for Cosmetic Reasons should be ok, as long as theres still a Amber Bulb, but I mean its upto you, people put different colored bulbs and get pulled over next day, and than some people have it for years without problems

Do you guys think blacked out lights would look nice on a IP G37? I am doing this to mine, painting the inside black but am some what having second thoughts since the car is white and not black.

I think blacking out Headlights on a White Car makes it look like a Raccoon

I would rather Clear them out and take the Amber Color out

For anyone doing the baking, you gotta be very careful because the lights never reseal the same way as they were from the factory. I did this on my Lexus and I had a few condensation issues in the headlight that I worked out eventually. It can be done to perfection, but you have to be very patient.
