Is the clear bra really just the lesser of two evils? Honestly, my local Infiniti dealer puts it on seemingly every car on the lot and I think it looks terrible. Maybe it was the time of day/lighting (or install), but I could see the hood line from 10 feet away and a dullness vs the paint on the rest of the car. I looked very close becase I am struggling with this decision. I have a G37 on order and right now am leaning towards no clear bra.

Does anyone have a negative long-term experience with the clear bra? I can totally see the other side of the debate where paint chips are tough to ignore!

I had mine done on my G35 2005 the day I got the car. It was black and clear bra was very visible. After 3 years of owning the car, it sucked... the 3M clear bra was just not as clear any more. I just got my G37 IP and am NOT going to put the bra on. I would rather just repaint the bumper after 2 years or so.

If anything, I would only recommend getting the Bra on the bumper but not the hood. It is way less obvious on the bumper then it is on the hood.

similak makes a good point for how annoying it looks it may not be worth it....i got a quote from infiniti for their clear bra that they say is actually better than 3M becuase 3m shows a line where it stops whereas with VisiShield that they use it's bette quality and folded and tucked away over the corners, they remove the headlights and all to install it...but it costs like $700ish installed....Repainting the damn bumper will probbaly not be that much more. I have painted a bumper AND hood on my 2000 Lexus GS400 to get rid of nicks, cracks, scratches at a real good auto shop for just $550 out the door....so why bother with an ugly clear bra? also they are usually UV protectant meaning the paint under the clear bra might stay darker and newer as the rest of ur car slightly fades....that would look bad after u take it off too....

just dont tailgate garbage trucks and construction vehicles on the highway at 70 MPH guys haha

Just had it done. It looks great, however, it is not an easy application. Get a professional to do it. Definitely worth it.
