tint?
How much do you guys think is good for platinum graphite? I've seen a 20% that looks pretty nice but I'm not sure if that's too much. Also, I've heard that it's better to have the dealer tint it because they "burn it in". Is that true? Or do they typically charge you more for it?
Anywhere I can read up on the different types of tints and all the basics?

yea, sorry I meant 30% looked nice. I don't like it too dark either. Should I have the dealer do it or go to a tint shop?

When you are in the $150 - $250 range (from a tint shop) you are, most likely, getting less than top shelf film. Good film, and ceramic film will not mess with radio waves, including XM Traffic w/Nav, bluetooth and GPS, costs more than second rate film. Metallic film may cause problems. Ceramic film costs more than metallic, so the ceramic tint job will cost more.
I know top of the line 3M ceramic cost $300 (30% front windows, 20% back and rear) on my wife's Camry two years ago here in Phoenix. I haven't checked for a G37. I am hoping it is less because the rear side windows are the size of a postage stamp.

I guess my question is that should I have the dealer do it for $250 or should I go out and look for a shop to do it for cheaper?

I have ceramics 30 percent tint on my platinum graphite. it looks nice not to dark. I like lighters tint myself. Also I have ceramics tint for my car and cost 360. 160 would be the regular metallic tint. There are antennas on the rear windows of the car. if you look at it you can tell where the antenna's are and where the defroster are. With newer high end car the ceramics are recomended. Now the top of the car are just XM and GPS antennas i think.. don;t quote me on that. the ceramics tint are also better filtering heat and UV rays with out havign to go super dark. spending 300 dollars for ceramics tint was the way I choose to go. I would post pictures but I haven;t took a pic of my baby yet.
