Does anyone know why when the car goes up on a curb at an angel it makes a loud creaking sound from the car?

 

hmmm I don't get that on mine... How many miles you got on it? When did you start to notice it?

i have about 540 miles on it. I jus noticed it today when i was going up on a curb to enter the public parking garage. Its not suppose to make that kinda noise huh? What should i do? Take it to the dealer? How would they check what's wrong it the car?

 

Mine does it too. Comes from the moonroof area. It is body flex. It is bad news.

 

Damn I am just getting that lil faint chirp like an alarm chirp in the distance sounds like coming from near the wheels....I think it's a lube issue that MANY of the G's are having. This one however I haven't noticed yet. Man - the lil problems this car is seeming to have is kinda freakin me out..

 

alot of us have the alarm chirp sound.
I took it in when i was at 600 miles. They took a look at it and relubed it, but they said they can not guarantee that it will fix the problem.
The sound did went away, maybe not , it was less noticeable, but after another 700 miles of driving I realized I can hear it again now in reverse. So..
I dont know wut to say...

Every car I have ever had with a moonroof has done the body flex pop on uneven ground. I had the PING that everyone has, the dealer knew what it was and fixed it. Lubed splines on half shaft. 350z had this very exact problem, fixed same way.

 

My car has yet to make this sound. My old G35 would do it several times a day... on my driveway, entering any parking lot, the slightest surface change and it would creak and POP.

I'm disappointed to hear you car is doing it since I thought it was taken care of completely based on the fact that my car has not done it not once yet. I guess it is going to start doing it at some point

Do you have the sport suspension model and is your car totally stock?

yea mine is also G37S stock. I'm surprised by how it makes that noise due to bodyflex. I had a bmw e46 3 series with moonroof also, but never made that kind of noise ever. the noise was pretty loud when i was entering the garage. I even had music playing pretty loud and i still heard it. I was like "WTF was that?" I first thought some big rocks fell on top of my roof.

 

Haven't had this issue yet with mine, although I've been listening for these noises because they bothered me on my TL....

The only one I've noticed is in the driver door near the bottom on the latch side. It rattles a bit over rough pavement or with certain bass frequencies. I plan on having the dealer do something about that with the first oil change.

 

It is the chassis flexing. Every car will have this at some degree of angle on the chassis. Some are much higher so you may never notice it....

 

My old G35 would pop at times, but over the same surfaces, my G37 has yet to do it. It doesn' tmake any noises yet. I now have 750 miles on it (I've been taking the scenic routes to work ) I am sorry to hear this is occuring I hope it doesn't happen on mine but I guess this may be a normal thing for G coupes.

 

I just noticed when I park on a slight incline or decline, I get this creaking chirp. I guess it happens when the car rolls a bit and the parking brake catches. Does anyone else get this?
