Lambo yellow paint job
Hey guys, i am thinking of getting a custom yellow lambo paint on my g37 like the yellow g35 seen on the other forums. I was just wondering if any one can give me tips on where to get it and the general pricing. I went to my local auto shop and they told me that it was a 3 stage paint job and it will cost 6500 and i think im getting ripped off. I live in Toronto, Canada, so if neone have any advice...give me a shout

I'm not an expert, but I wonder if part of the cost has anything to do with the labor/time to remove items from the car to either paint them or protect them from paint.
I'd want to know what the $3K place is / isn't doing compared to the $6500 place.

6500 is not a rip off. IF you want similar quality paint (tri coat) to what your car came with then to replicate that quality in a new color (yellow in this case) then be prepared to get out your wallet. Also, with a nice like this, you want to go to a nice shop to have this done (not maako or some junk) so they will charge a tad more as well. Id say 5k is CHEAP for this...6k is about right...7k might be pushin it.

u get what you pay for. My integra, house of kolor, full spray was 3500. It won best [aint a few times.
for this sized car 5-7500 wouldn't be to crazy. Ship it to my boy in Ohio, he'll take good care of you, Then join my club, www.teamsolo.net
Hit me up if u got questions.

^uhh...no. paint is not paint. lmao there is so much more to a paint job that just sprayin a color on your car. you have paint quality, as well as labor. liek my guy said above, you get what you pay for.

Obviously my grasp of sarcasm is greater than certain others on this board.

Paint is Paint... but how much paint there is makes a HUGE difference. First, you want the best facilities for painting. A crappy job can be easily seen. If they don't prep your car the right way, you'll see that on the car right away.
Second of all, it depends how many mils of paint they put on the car. I had mine measured with an electronic gauge, and it's between 3-4 mils. On comparison, my dad's Bentley is between 6-7.
Ultimately, you get what you pay for... good luck.
