Regarding tinting - the window seems to move on it's own when you open the door - can this be disabled so that the tint does not get ruined while drying?

The tint won't get ruined by rolling very little when opening/closing the door.

If you insist, open the door and look at the "door button" on the side. There's a screw underneath the button. Just remove the screw and it'll stop going up and down. I do not know how it affects when opening/closing the door.

i had asked my tint guy what precautions they utilize to ensure this wouldn't be a problem. he stated that they use something to "hold" the tint in place because of this as it is somewhat common on cars that have no door frame above the window. no need to worry about it.

the day after my tint was done, i noticed streaks running the length of the window and about a quarter inch high from this, but it was only on the outside of the tint (inside of the car). after cleaning the window, it went away and looks perfect.

I have had 3 G 35/37 Coupes and have always had 15% tint on my windows with no problems I have been pulled over many times and I have found that if you get both windows down and dome lights on it seems to make them a bit more at ease and may not nick pick you to death about other (tint) things that and the fact I am a firefighter may help to
Also about the drop down feature my tint place disconnects the battery while doing tinting on cars with this feature

Window would not stay up

Hi guys,
I pick up my G this afternoon from the tint shop and I thought I would share this story. The owner called me right before I was to pick it up. He said they had a problem with the passenger door window. Every time the door was opened, the window would roll it self all the way down. I went to the shop and sure enough it would not stay up. The drivers side was OK. We spent about 45 minutes trying to trouble shoot the problem. I decided to pull out the manual and sure enough the situation is listed on page 2-51. Thought I would pass this on in case it happens to anyone else.

I got 10% on this for the same reason, and 20% on the rest.... it still does not match when veiwing from many angles. But from some angles it looks great. Prolly have to do 5% to get it matching better. =\

Also, i see the border (dot matrix) still around this window. Kinda annoying. I want it blaacked out.

Then you hafta re-initialize the windows after this. Right? Or there will be problems with rolling up ur windows. My tint guy just used clamps on this button so the car thinks the door is closed when its really not.
Then he used a heat gun to ensure the tint stayed in place on these windows.

Thanks for posting... TINT ppl (if they are good and have experience) should know about this. Esp for cars with no door frame around the top half of the window.
Some remove the screw in the door jamb on the door open/close sensor to disrupt the circuit... but my tint guy did not feel like resetting the windows on a brand new 40K+ car... so he just used CLAMPS to trick the car into thinking the door was shut! lool

Looks very good!

That's what my tint guy did. As far as I know he didn't reset anything. The windows work fine though...

The screws don't reset anything. Removing it just prevents the windows from rolling down when the doors are open...
