Fog Light Question

Fog Light Question
I want to change the fog lights on my G37 and my wife's G35 sedan so that they don't look so different from the headlights.
What bulbs do I need and how do I install them?
Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance for your help.

H1 sized replacement bulbs are used in the G37. Not sure about the G35 but I'm sure someone else may be able to chime in on that one.
You'll need to remove both air intakes and then its a matter of getting your hands on the cap that covers the back of each bulb and twisting. Once that's off remove the two wires that connect to the bulb, pull the release spring and then remove the bulb. Reverse the order to put it all back together.
If you are familiar with tools and working under the hood if won't take you very long at all. It took me about 30 minutes to change these and the clearance lights. If you aren't familiar with removing things from your car, get some assistance along with the service manual for the vehicle (its linked somewhere here on the forum I believe).
P.S. If you want to change the clearance light on the passenger side, you'll find it quite a tight squeeze to get your hands in there if you have large hands and/or little dexterity.

You should try a dedicated automotive accessories shop like those specializing in wheels, accessories and performance parts. They would carry a larger selection of color options (if that's your thing) and higher quality parts than an Autozone or similar would stock.
I'm certain there are a few there in Las Vegas.

So which kinda bulbs would u get?
HID.... if so, which temperature?
How bout Silverstars for a cheaper, but decent option?
If not the Fogs... i at least wanna replace that little city light that sits in there.

At first i assumed that the only lights on when the headlights were in the on position were the HID's themselves. instead, there's also a yellowish bulb that's on as well.
i'd like to replace this bulb with something that actually matches the color of the HID for a more uniform look. just looks a bit strange with blue-ish HIDs and yellow-ish 'whatever-the-hell-they're-for' lights.

Yes, the off-colored yellow bulbs do stand out next to the headlights but they are easily replaced. They are "168" sized bulbs that are actually used all over the car. The bulbs are the same as those in the map lights, door exit lights, trunk light and even the rear license plate lights.
PIAA makes some nice white bulbs (I used these myself) that work well but tend to be expensive compared to regular bulbs. You can use LED bulbs as well but they aren't recommended to be used in headlight housings due to the heat. The stock G37 headlights run pretty cool so they shouldn't cause problems with the majority of LED bulbs. If you tend to leave the fog lights on, however, the heat is increased quite a bit, especially if you change them to aftermarket bulbs. I cannot say how long it will take to adversely affect an LED bulb at that point but its worth mentioning.

I am using the PIAA white bulbs @ my license plate right now... good to know the same ones can fit that annoying yellow city light in the headlight. I think finagle69 replaced all his interior bulbs with some LED bulbs.... so buddy, time to order a couple more for ur headlights? lol

actually, i have a few left over!! i could have sworn, though, that the bulbs in the interior and license plates were 194's, not 168's. i'll check again.
does anyone know if either the user's manual or service manual detail these bulbs?
thanks.
