Android screen w/Bose? 2009. Why so difficult?
Did a friend a favor and installed an android screen in her car, a 2012 Mazda 3. Simple install, steering wheel buttons all work, screen shows car data through the can bus, back up camera, etc. All for $90 from Amazon.
Why is this so difficult and expensive for our cars? I would think connecting to the canbus would be pretty easy. And the android radio should be able to output any type of audio signal. It's ridiculous not having bluetooth sound. And the price for the niftycity is ludicrous! I'm not spending $750 when the whole car cost me $6500. Granted that was in 2020.
What is it about the Bose system that makes integration with aftermarket systems difficult?
I have a 2009 6mt sedan. The front door speakers say Bose. Is this the Bose system? Don't have navigation. IIRC my car has a center and LR dash speakers, 2 in the front door, 2 in the rear doors, and a center rear sub.

I don't have an answer to your main question of why it's so complicated to mod our systems.
It sounds like your '09 is Bose w/o NAV. Rear deck center speaker also marked Bose? Infiniti for some reason chose to block BT streaming unless you got the NAV package. Who knows why they did that but that was a nasty decision.
There are a lot of workarounds people have found here in the forum but nothing simple. Does your '09 have USB or audio inputs in the center console (under the armrest)? A directly wired connection is best for audio quality but it's clunky and difficult to operate that way.
Hope you can find a good mod.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, there's audio inputs and a covered socket that I believe is the ipod socket in the center console armrest.
I'll keep searching. I'm sure there's enough information in the forum to come up with some solution. Some of the android systems on ebay and ali look good, but all say not compatible with the Bose. There has to be compatibility with other Infinity or Nissan's of that era.
