09 Coupe not reading CD

09 Coupe not reading CD
Hey there! A first-time user looking for some help.
Have had my 09 G37 coupe for about a year now and finally decided to buy some CDs to try and play them in the car. The car came full package with navigation system and all. Thus, only an eject button next to the CD insert.
The reader took the CD and I could hear the motor inside wind up, but when on the FM setting and AUX/CD setting nothing happened. Keep in mind when I cycle through AUX/CD I only get an AUX screen along with an iPod screen.
After about 30 seconds the CD motor winds down and I resort to just ejecting the CD. I've reset the system through the secret menu (Radio off, hold setting button and rotate volume) but nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
