I was a little hesitant to purchase this, but I wanted carplay in my G37. The installation was straight forward and easy, just time-consuming. Works GREAT and the wireless carplay is fantastic, no more cables. It is not cheap at about $700 however, you get what you pay for. I was able to install the unit just above the OEM radio behind the AC control panel, it was tight but it fits. There was a white box there which I have no clue what its for but I just unmounted it and slid it up behind everything to make room for the carplay unit. Pic is not great but, its a nice upgrade.

I just posted a help thread. We are having trouble with our install. Touch screen isn’t working. And nifty city is not helpful.

 

Does the touch screen work with CarPlay? I was watching a video and one of them had a screen overlay you have to install for the touch screen to work with CarPlay?

 

Yes, as long as you have NAV your good. If no NAV, you need to spend another $100 for a new screen from them.

 

The wireless is handy for shorter trips. For a road trip you'd still need to plug in to keep phone charged as there's no wireless charging in these cars.

 

Thats correct. I love the wireless, most of the time thats what I use.

 

My 2022 car is half @ssed in this regard. It has qi charger, but AA/ACP requires cable. Supposedly hardware supports wifi and lte, just software is lacking ('22 stinger).

 

I meant to ask, did you get the standard module or advanced?

Awesome, I just ordered 2. One for the IPL and 1 for the Jx35!!

 

Jx35 . Install real easy. I have a Galaxy zFold 2 and integrates great! Next is the Q60 IPL!

 

What are your opinions about this Nifty City Carplay? Do you like it? Was it worth the upgrade?
