Slightly offtopic: I would like to hear your opinion on the Galaxy Fold... Currently running my trusty S7edge but know I'll need to replace it... Eventually.

 

OP 7T here. Pickings are slim for bootloader unlockable devices compatible with att volte.

Another family member has a s7 edge. Battery barely lasts a day any more with minimal use.

 

 

Well, they are 6 years old! Mine is rooted and heavily debloated plus I don't run any of "googles (BS) services." I don't "game" or any of that nonsense and mine lasts all day and up to 11pm bedtime. And, yes, options are very limited for US-compatible devices that can be BL unlocked/ rooted- even worse for Verizon devices!

Do the factory display items overlay onto the new application (temp, fan speed, etc) or do you have to switch modes? Does it make use of the stock harness for audio out to the trunk for the Bose Amps?

 

I considered this too. This is the same . I figured if they screwed up sending the wrong unit it would be a pain in the *** to deal with.

1. Yes. You will have to go into settings to change from C to F. Factory remains normal. Only thing that was affected that I can telll is the dvd player will play but wont show movie w e brake on. The rear screens on the jx play video There is a setting to play video while driving in the module option so that maybe interfering.

There is an hdmi input on the module. I think it can be set as an input or out put. I have an hdmi rca cov cable fof the rca video input if the straight hdmi wont work. I havent played with it.

2. Audio is not affected. You can play factory options and use car play Waze app at same time.

 

 

I ran the units wire harness to passenger side and put up under carpet under end of console and glove box. Didnt run usb as I wanted wireless android auto. I synced both cars to home wifi and hotspot.

The fold is great! Great screen resolution and flows with ease. I had the first one, sold it and got another iphone because the front screen was to small. Thd the fold 2 came out with the larger screen. Great overall phone. I was hoping the 4 would havd an inside s pen but I will be upgrading soon.

 

I don't care much for the Advanced unit with fancy operating system, just the Standard one that allows for Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Does it use stock Bluetooth or what? How does it communicate with the phone? Are there any settings or options in the factory system that don't work anymore with this system? Is it reversible?

I have so many questions.... But I must say, it looks very clean if it is as easy as it looks. I have a 2011 M37X with touchscreen factory navigation.
