Radio buttons dying - what are my options?
Hi all, 2009 base model 6MT here with the basic radio (no nav, no Bose). A few months ago, my SETTINGS button ceased to function no matter how hard/what angle I press on it, and now my DISC button has done the same. This is a huge disappointment as I have CDs I love. I haven't found much literature on here or other forums suggesting this is a common problem, so I would guess there is no easy fix (though I'd love to know if there is one).
What are my options, as this radio is... uniquely shaped. I'm guessing there's no potential to at least swap in a nav/bose unit.

Why not just replace the switch assembly? There are literally dozens on eBay ranging from $10-50. Just search "G37 28395" and they will pop up. Should take 30 minutes to a hour to replace.
While rare, there have been cases where these- and the preset switch panel (the clock one) have gone bad. Easy fix. Just disconnect the battery before you attempt the repair!

Also, if you haven't ordered that piece yet, try to see if you can get the cable/ribbon only....mine went bad some years ago, for whatever reason, maybe crimped in or something like that, but the radio and aux buttons suddenly stopped responding and when i replaced the cable, all good...either way, you will need the cable, so start with the least exp option if that is an issue etc
