Amp turn on be used on pins 20, 22, or 37, on the b41 (longer connector) on the bose amp. 20 is remote turn on from the HU, 22 is the woofer amp power on from the amp, and 37 is the "drivers audio stage" from the oem HU. if pin 37 does not have power, the audio stage will turn on. If pin 37 does have power, audio stage will be off. Without looking at my HU wiring, i believe that Phoenix had power coming from the HU to both circuits.

Amp power, well, you probabably have that figured out.

Now for input signal, you have various options. You can tap into the rear woofer signal from the bose amp, running thw appropriate convertors, or run a pair of wires all the way from the new HU to wherever your amp is.

I am looking for the latter option myself, and trying to find the appropriate size pin to fit into the harness connector on the HU. After that, its a matter of finding which of the two pins are +/- on the HU, and then resetting your gain and crosssover on your amp. I believe the pins follow the same pattern as the rest of the speakers, but i could be wrong.

All i really have confirmed at the moment is that my HU has 5 pairs of audio outputs on the rear, one of which does not have wires in it yet, but does have pins. I work 60/hrs a week (gvmt work, essential emp, thanks corona) so time has been limited for me to test this out.

Also, for. Those who want to know, the aftermarket units oanly have 22 RMS per channel. So if you feel it is quieter than oem, it is. The signal going to the bose amp is simply lesser than oem. (at least on mine it is)

Great information thanks man.
And I actually do have a question i was going to send the seller an email see if he has an answer but how or can we get access to change the settings in AMP info its in the console settings i can view the information but i cant change anything. I seen videos on youtube people changing those settings to improve the audio quality but the units seem like they running a different software or older software. I have the PX6 android 9.

Hm.. Interesting. What version of firmware do you have? Mine is the Christmas build. It does not have that anywhere in any of the apps i have decompiled.

Also, who is the manufacturer of your unit? It may say on yhe casing. For out cars there were two manufacturers for the android 9 px6 units.

Misa - I've got the remote wire setup and power/ground wires done. Where I'm at now is I have a pair of RCA cables coming out from my JL amp in the trunk running to my screen. I'm not sure what cables to tap into. I bought this RCA adapter as there were no RCAs on the harness to use. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...A-Adapter.html

Only RCAs available are if I used this harness below which require me to remove the one I have in there now that is working with the stock Bose speakers. If I use this harness I lose my factory speakers because they don't have RCA connections.:

Does that make any sense?? Excuse anything I misspoke on, electronics/audio are not my specialty lol.

Yes, it makes sense. Ill help you one on one, and post the information here afterwards. I need more information/pictures of your harness.

Question Questions

Secondly: I am not responsible for anything done to your device, and some information may void warranty.

Okay! Lets begin!

Basic: This radio is two separate devices. One is android, the other is an MCU or microcontroller. They talk to eachother, and many features are separated.

So, elaborating:

Bluetooth, is MCU feature, NOT android. So, sadly, ONLY PHONES WILL CONNECT. Dont bother with audio devices or Bluetooth devices. There is simply no way for android to see them. Anything you see in the stock Bluetooth app, is simply the app is talking to the MCU to get the data. This provides excellent clarity to the DSP, but minimal android integration.

Radio, is like Bluetooth, also an MCU feature. The app works the same.

DSP is the same, sadly.

Now, moving forward a bit. Upgrading from android 8 to android 9 is possible, but not easy. I will bot provide that information.

Th Android part, is clean android system, with minimal editing. Rather, the "system" apps installed, are located outside of the base android system, in a different directory. So, if you ever initiate a factory reset, you are essentially screwed. It will delete apps that are a pain to get back. (learned the hard way).

There are a lot of obsolete apps on the system, that are for others variants, other systems, and other versions of android. I am still sorting this out.

There is a built-in task killer that force kills all apps when the ignition is turned off. This cannot be disabled without some android programming work, decompiling and rebuilding some of the apps they loaded onto the system. I have done this to my unit. Many of you may have noticed data gets lost or isn't saved when the ignition is off. This is why.

Another thing, is the "system info" menu, obviously you cant get into it. There is a fix for it, but, honestly, not worth it. There is no longer any useful settings in it. It may help some with Bluetooth issues, but thats it. In Android 9, they revamped it completely.

The canbus cannot be talked to from the android side, only the MCU. There is a canbus app built in, that frequently pings the MCU for data, and sends data to it. So the HVAC system will have a minor lag, as will steering wheel controls.

Speaking of steering wheel controls you need to be set on Low-Z.

You can swipe the top bar, and rearrange the apps as you please. Here is a breakdown of the apps:

NAVIGATION: this is whatever navigation program you have set in settings.
RADIO: the app that gets the radio tuner on the MCU active and playing.
MUSIC: whatever music app you have set in settings.
APPS: well.. Duh.
VIDEO: whatever video app you have set in settings.
BLUETOOTH: the app that talks to the Bluetooth chip on the MCU.
USER APP**: the app you set in settings. I have mine set as torque pro.
CAR AUTO: this is the ZLINK app. Its their version of android auto, specifically made to work better with our head units.
EXPLORER: internet browser.
DSP: this is your MCU eq and timing settings. This is a decent dsp actually. There ia complex data on this, ill get into it later.
CONSOLE: this is your car settings, for headlight off delay, unlock settings, interior lights. this is more limited than the oem features, but hey it sorta works.
PHONELINK: a sort of screen sharing thing. Honestly? It isn't great.
FILE MANAGER: their neutered file manager.
SETTINGS: Totes obvious. Ill go into more detail later.

----------

Okay, so the DSP. See, some of the manufacturers didn't put a dedicated DSP chip on our radios, and some did. Its not easy to figure out unless you crack open the hardware.

Assuming you do have a hardware DSP, GREAT!!! you are lucky. The app sends its set data to the dsp and the dsp holds it. It works great. The 16 band EQ works well, im working on using it to partially negate the bose amp active eq. The sound field option is just speaker timing, the filters work acceptably. But the STRONG BASS menu doesn't work on our cars. This is because we dont have a subwoofer output on our units. (well we do, but not how you expect)

The OEM system, only has 4 audio channels, and the bose amp automatically filters and sends signals to the 10/11 speakers, including the woofer. The aftermarket units only work those same 4 channels. If you notice, the plug on the back has 2 unused pins. Welp, guess what those are? Subwoofer output. STRONG BASS is the subwoofer menu. I am going to test thia out at my earliest convenience.

Okay, so i have been typing this all on my phone, and im not up for spell checking or punctuation right now. I am going to end this post here, and resume another post with the settings app later on. Feel free to ask questions!

According to my RTA, this EQ provides a completely flat audio output from the bose amp. It sounds horribly wierd, but it is a starting point for anyone who wants to mess with it.

This is my preferred EQ setting. I think it sounds better and more full.
I have a pX6 9.1 hooked up to a 2008 G37s Coupe w/ Bose/NAV/Cam and aftermarket amp/sub. Everything is finally working now...including AC (only when vehicle image is set to QX70), but I have static coming from the speakers when in reverse or playing music. Do you know what's up with that? I turn the GAIN down on the amp as well as the screen and nothing works.

You probably have reverse volume lowering on. In the settings menu, there is an option that says "reverse sound" or attenuation. Toggle those and reboot, then see if the problem is fixed.

So I tried turning off "Sound Attenuation" and nothing. I also don't have the ability to change any settings in the "Console". I spoke to a REP from Rhino Radio and he said it's definitely my GAIN, but I can't change that in the console. Also, when I change my sound settings in "More Settings", they don't save. Everytime I turn the unit on, the volume is SUPER loud. Could my main harness be wired wrong, as I found one of the GROUND wires is connected to an OEM harness, but no pin there?

This sounds very familiar.. I had a similar issue with the loud volume at first. I think i turned off remember volume, or something like that. As for the ground, i do remember wiring my own ground in as well.

I haven't been around my g in a few weeks, so ill snag pictures when i get back to it.

This is the same setup that I have and I cannot change my "console" settings. When I go into the "More Settings" sound settings, I have to turn down the volume to the lowest setting and it doesn't save on the next startup.

Hi all -

I have recently bought the Mark 3 myself and wanted to report a solution for the rear camera issue. Basically, the camera harness from phoenix isn't providing power back to the camera to turn on hence the 'no signal'. I literary just found out the fix and decided to share for the next poor soul! For this specific year and model, you have to splice pin22(R) to pin 11(Y).
2013 G37x W/ Bose and Navigation - SOLVED (full write up soon)
