looking on how much it is to get an oem remote starter installed or is it cheaper to get one separate (g37x 2012 sedan)

You could get a Fortin one that integrates with the OEM remote for around $100 and install yourself in around 30 minutes to an hour. I think most places will likely charge in the neighborhood of $500+ for remote start

I got mine recently installed on my '09 coupe at Best Buy for $400 but that has the two-way remote, so it has a long range and beeps a confirmation upon lock, start or unlock. I had the option of upgrading to connecting it to my phone, I can do that later but it will end up costing me more. The phone deal gives you a standard range remote plus the ability to start from the phone basically anywhere there is a phone connection, so you can be in a building, basement, blocks away, etc. That offers tracking and other items as well, and there is a yearly subscription of I think $60. My local B-Buy guy was really good and walked me through it all. Plus, they may offer 0% financing for 6 months or something now.
