2008 G37 Double Din (JDM Kit)

Hi guys,

So I ordered and tried the metra kit for my G37. What a piece of junk. Nothing fit right and all kinds of bugs. I took everything out and returned it to factory. I have been reading and searching for 3 days now and keep reading about the JDM double din dash kit but for the life of me can't find it anywhere. I swear, ive been to hundreds of web sites looking and looking. Everyone says they keep the nice factory look and work well with the existing components. Just can't find where to buy one. At this point, I don't even really care how much it cost as long as it works and fits. Please help.

Subbing because similar interest.

Done same research and nothing. Metra everywhere, never this mythical JDM kit. It exist for the G35, but I am almost positive it does not for the G37.

Looks good / clean in the pictures? Did the g37 dash change at all with the 2010 update?

I believe someone here actually tried the metra kit and thought it was very disappointing and went back to stock. You can also only install this on a non-nav car.

The metra kit looks terrible.

there's nothing else really. I personally have no need for a double din like in my previous 350z. For maps, Google Maps on my phone is the best. Music? 100 GB old school iPod Touch that cost me $50. The clock is pretty useful and I dont want to lose that feature.

Thanks for the tip. I saw the Metra kit as well but it looks horribly cheap and ruins the look of the dash.

I'm thinking of trying to wire up a 2010+ w/ nav system over the winter, I know it's possible (a member posted a good DIY in the DIY section) and I used to be semi-handy with a soldering iron.

I think you just need to be good at looking at the wiring schematics and comparing the 09 to 10. Also make sure you get one with the full harness.

Yes all good advice. I will have a close look before I commit to any purchases or modifications. I need to determine what the differences are between 2009 and 2010+ as well, my instinct is that I want the newest possible but maybe 2009 w/ nav would do for what I need.

I swapped my '08 Bose non-NAV with a Bose NAV unit from a '14 Q60. Anyone with basic wiring experience can do the swap. It just takes A LOT of patience. Main benefits are the high resolution display, Bluetooth streaming (bye bye Ipod cables), and DVD/USB playback.

Got any video of it ? I got a 13 sedan nd I been trying to come up with something better than changing my phone i had a 08 sedan no nav as well but the aux actually worked perfectly fine but 13 got only USB for apple only (so far what I figured) I would rather go with factory nav system than going Metra or all those bluetooth add ons.

Bump, I'm looking for the JDM dash kit as well. Otherwise I'm going with the metra. I'd rather give up some features for better audio quality and android auto. Tried 2 different tesla screens both were garbage with their build in DAC's and low volume level clipping. I installed one workshop 12 but I gave u on them sense there is no guarantee a external DAC will work along with the delay on CC's.
