Annoying door chime when car turns off with door open
Is there any way to disable the door chimes when I turn off my car and have already opened a door? Often I will open the door to check how close I am to a curb, then turn the car off and the door chimes go crazy. It seems to me that there is not a good reason for it to chime just because there is a door open. Is it only on the 6mt?

are your foglights on? read something about this - try turning them off if they are and see if it still chimes.
i remember on my Subaru you had to turn the key to ACC and click the seatbelt in and out like 12 times, then the chime would only go off once instead of continuously
there may be a way to kill it with the dealer's CONSULT diag tool.

No, the chime is basically the same as "Hey dummy your key is still in the ignition." It would be nice if it only went off when the fob was in the fob slot that I don't think anyone ever uses. It also only happens if the door is opened before the car is shut off (whether from On, Acc, or running).

It happens to me once in awhile. As long as I make sure the car is not in ACC and no lights are actually ON, I just close the door, lock it and on my way I go. The chime stops when the door is closed.

I've been wondering what that chime was...I get it most times when I shut off the car, door open or closed. I think it's because the battery in the fob is down to it's last third. Just a theory. Tried the other fob and it too was down to the last third.
