How to keep car running when using remote starter? (solved)

I purchased a used 09 sedan which has a remote starter already installed.
I can't figure out how to keep the engine running after using the remote starter then wanting to drive off. The dealer didn't know either. I've tried;

- pressing the PTS
- PTS twice quickly
- brake pedal and PTS at the same time (which my kia uses)
- unlock on keyfob then PTS

In either case the car just turns off. It's definitely an after market remote starter. I'm not certain how to check make model of the components.

Anything I can do to figure this out?

edit: solved, tap the brake only when entering the car

Try the method that works for 95% of aftermarket remote starts. Get in the car after it's been remote started and simply press the brake pedal. Done. Nothing to do with PTS after the car is remote started.

I have the same issue with the Automate 2 way remote starter in my 2010 X (7AT). 98% of the time I remote start the car it shuts off when I get in and put my foot on the brake. Every once in a while the car will let me put my foot on the brake and shift into gear without shutting off. The problem is that because the times that it works correctly are so sporadic and infrequent, I'm never expecting it to work so I have yet to pin point a pattern of what I'm doing differently when it DOES work.

Any other tips would be appreciated!

I've never had a remote starter on any car I've owned but according to the research I just did trying to help you guys with finding an answer it seems that its a security precaution and the car shuts off as soon as you open the door. I'm assuming it so nobody steals your car? Tried finding an answer for you guys but anything I can find was just people complaining about the same exact issue and every answer I found was that it was a security precaution on aftermarket self remote starters. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help But I can definitely see how that would get on your nerves.

You tap the brake once you enter the car, not hold it. You should hear a chime. If you hold the brake its triggering a failsafe to kill the engine.

Also for opening the door, make sure you hit unlock First (So hit remote start, then unlock when near, the tap the brake pedal) first, I've had that happen to be as well.
