iPod connector no longer works on 2009 G37....
I've been looking around for a solution to my problem and it seems like everyone on this forum is pretty knowledgeable and might know a fix for my issue. Anyway, I've had my 2009 Infiniti G37x Coupe for over a year now and the iPod connector cable has always worked great for playing music. I have an iPhone 6 Plus so I have to use Apple's "Lightning Adapter" to connect, so it doesn't charge the device, but the music still plays fine. Suddenly, last week, my music won't play when I plug my iPhone in; the screen says 'iPod not connected'. I'll leave it plugged in for a few minutes and it will eventually start playing sometimes, but it cuts in and out randomly. I've tried unplugging, restarting, etc and nothing fixes the issue. Has anyone run into this problem or will I have to buy a new cable or adapter and see if that works? I'm in a bit of a time crunch right now as I have to make a 10 hour drive in a few days, so hopefully there's an easy fix. Any help would be appreciated!

You're going to need to start narrowing down what's wrong. You mentioned that you have the dock to lightning adapter, but you didn't say if it's an Apple adapter or if it's a cheap knock-off. The cheap non-Apple adapters are sketchy at best and should not be used. Also, it's been reported that you should be using the small Apple adapter and not the one that is part of a cable as that one doesn't seem to always work in our cars.
I'd start by swapping out the Apple adapter. If it works, then that's the problem. If not, I'd try a new Infiniti iPod cable next. It's likely one of those two things.

I'm currently using the short Apple brand Lightning adapter (not the knock off). Like I said, it worked fine until last week. I'll try to get ahold of a friend's iPhone 4 or earlier and see if it works without the adapter.

Did you ever find a solution? I am having a similar problem but its with the infiniti 30 pin cable. I replaced the stock one with an aftermarket after it went bad but it didn't solve the issue. Do you think it needs to be an infiniti brand cable?
