Bluetooth

I have a 2008 G37S without navigation system. When I bought the car it came with a cable that plugs into the center console so that you can attach a smart phone or iPod to it. I currently have an Apple iPhone 4S that I use to plug into the phone and am able to play music through the stereo. I am considering going to the iPhone 5S but that phone has a smaller plug which the existing cable will not fit. I went to a local Apple store to inquire if they had a similar cable that would be adaptable to the 5S. They said that they did not but indicated that since my phone is paired with the car that it may be possible to play music through the system wirelessly without having to plug the phone into this cable. Does anyone know if this is possible and if yes how would I go about doing this? Is this feature available for both the 4S and 5S?

Any guidance will be appreciated. Thanks

Your model G does not play music through BT. You can buy a 30 pin-lightning adapter to use your new phone. I have one of those adapters now that I use with my iPod

Thanks. Where can I buy one of these adapters? Reason I ask is that I had gone to the apple store and they said their adapter will not work. Does Infiniti make a similar cable that will plug into the console and will be able to plug the other end in the smaller hole of the iPhone 5S?

I do most of my shopping on Amazon so I'm sure I purchased it there. It's a white apple like 2/3 inch cord where you plug Infiniti OEM plug into a female apple plug and in transforms into a lightning adapter. Let me look the next time I run out to the garage....

I have a 08 g37s and I got bluetooth to play music now and have the hands free also working. Just follow the instruction and connect them as he says in the post and it'll work!

Here's the guide that I followed:

Thanks to Jestered.

Thanks Biscuit. But if I wasn't concerned about charging the iPhone or playing music wirelessly while in the car and went with the iPhone 5S, would plugging the apple lighting to 30 pin adapter to the existing cable for the iPhone 4S that came with the car be sufficient to play my music in the car?

Yes it will. That's what I was using before I decided to switch to having it wireless Bluetooth.

Thanks Biscuit. So Infiniti does not make a cable that is adaptable to the iPhone 5S?

cheapest and best way to go bluetooth music. sound is as good with this as with the 30 pin connection. single unit sits in the armrest compartment and connects automatically to your phone. factory bluetooth phone function over rides the kinivo unit for calls. since it sits in the armrest, i use the phone/siri to initiate and control all playlists.

Do the older G's (09' and older) have the aux jack? I thought we only have the Infiniti iPod adapter and RCA's

Thanks guys- I ordered one of the Kinivo's anyway. It's on sale through Amazon now. At worst, I'll use it in the wife's QX. She's getting the new iPhone 6 so she'll be in heaven with the streaming music. I may use it here and there on my G, although I have an iPod that I just use for my music in there and update it every few months with the new music that I accumulate.
