12' Alpine Type-R Dual 4 ohms wired to 2 ohms
Kicker DX500.1

Here is my setup. Eventually I want get another 12' and put it in the other wheel well. I also want to get a new sub but I've had that sub for about 5 years now and it has never done me wrong, still hits like a champ.

No according to the individual I talked to at Custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosures and speaker boxes they said it's roughly over pound when completed they are so very light way more then I anticipated they said its layered with 3oz a time the weight is manly carpet. The box can be lifted with a pinkie when empty. Check them out!

Id be very suspicious of any sub box that weighs under a pound. The fiberglass has to be thick enough to avoid deformation under the pressure of the sub; then there's the internal bracing needed to keep the enclosure from breathing. All in all, I can't see a sturdy sub enclosure coming in at less than 5-10 lbs depending on internal volume unless there using graphene or some exotic polymer

Currently, I've got a 10" Kicker Solo-Classic powered by Kicker DX500.1 hooked up to the stock Bose w/Nav system. Sounds good but I need to get a smaller box to put on the side as I see many doing so.

What box are you using to fit your "12 sub just bought an Alpine type R and having a hard time finding a box that fits.

I finally got my car back and got my trunk customized I went from a custom ported box running 2 JL 12w0v3-4, with a JX1000/1d amp and a Scosche capacitor. Now... I have 2 JL 12w3v3-4 running on a XD10001v2 and a XD400/4 running interior in a customsubenclosures made of fiberglass, a panel with the skee hole lined in glass and led lights around Amps, and a digital SPL CP 4X capacitor.

I was currently googling custom sub setups for G37 to see if I could come across a picture somewhere in our lovely Internet world of how it was originally setup as I couldn’t figure out where you had your subs or what size. I have a regular rectangle Memphis box with 2 12a from my maxima that was just totaled 😭 so I was hoping to remove them from the ugly box and use them for the G37 just couldn’t figure out exactly what kind of box I would need made to make it work.

My sub installation is probably a bit off the deep end for some users but I chose to make my own Fiberglas enclosures. They are sealed cabinet and have the internal volume needs for the 10" Rockford Fosgate Power subs used. Both subs fire forward and minimize the reflected waves common with side mounted subs. I tried to come up with a design that would allow the subs to be farther back in the trunk but nothing seemed to work for my needs better than this arrangement.

Passenger Side

Driver side

This was my first venture into custom Fiberglas and given the amount of YouTube support, Id recommend it for any user with modest tool skills

I run a single 10" Rockford Fosgate sub in a custom box with a Rockford Fosgate R500X1D 500W amplifier.
