Hi, does anyone have the newest ipod touch? Can you confirm whether or not the ipod will go into accessory mode when it is connect to the car for a media player? Thanks!

What do you mean accessory mode? Where the iTouch is locked out so to speak? I use the EQu app and mine is available to operate the iTouch for selection. Also it still allows some functions on the NAV panel as well. I have the latest iTouch ver 5 i believe connected to a 2013 G37s.

When I plug in my iPod Nano, a "Accessory is Connected" pops up on the screen with an Infiniti logo, and it makes it so that I cannot operate my ipod using the ipod itself.

I was wondering if the iPod Touch will be the same way. I was hoping to be able to use the google maps app while having the ipod touch plugged in for music.

I am pretty sure that the idea behind it going into accessory mode is so that you don't use the touch while you are driving. Its a safety thing...its giving you control on the screen of the car radio as it should. So to answer your question, yes it will. I have a gen 1 and 2 touch about to get a gen 5 (I think) and they go into "accessory" mode

I have an iPhone 5, and it is definitely possible to operate the phone scfreen while it's plugged into the car. In fact, I have to do this because podcasts on the phone sometimes will not play at all or will play only the first 10 seconds when I use the car's touch screen to access them, but the same podcasts play without any trouble over the ipod connector if I start them on the phone using the Podcast app (while not driving--I don't plan to run into someone while messing with the phine).

^^Yes...I can too. But first thing it does is go into accessory mode. But you are right you can pull it out and control it while its plugged in. I think the answer to his question, though, is still that it does in fact go into accessory mode when you plug it in
