Mirracast to Non-nav for video? 2011
I've been looking all over the place to mirror my android and be able to stream music/ add touchscreen interface. From what I've found you can do the mimicsx2 and then add a video input. All said and done you are putting in like 500 bucks, might as well just get a touch screen with built in bluetooth/video/ect. My thoughts were to go usb for both the audio and possibly video? Since I have the non-nav and the stupid usb iphone port it is worthless except with a usb drive. My thought was if you could get RGA to usb with power you could use a mirracast or "dongle" and then just stream the video/audio through that. Cheap/low power/ect.
Thoughts? Could this work or anyone know a cheaper solution? Thanks

At first I thought Miracast required wifi but upon reading further, it seems it is Direct Connect like Bluetooth. The Netgear box is the best one I know of that Displays WIDI/MIRACAST the best, the PTV3000, its $59.99 on newegg and most sites and $80 in best buy or locally.
It still only uses HDMI so you still need a Conversion from RCA to HDMI and etc.
I have a RCA Inputs Since I have the Navi, the best route for you would be to buy a $300-400 box like NAV-TV or others people have mentioned, I may put mine up for sale as it was a added accessory which I never needed since I have Stock RCA Inputs.
This is what I have - https://www.navtv.com/product/232/ni...eShowProduct=1, I have it wire to a rocker switch and turns the Nav back and forth. But also only has RCA Inputs so has its downfalls.

AFAIK, I don't think that USB can output video like we all hope and dream that it could. If only life were that simple and easy.
I myself am going the Navtool/Mimicsx2 board route. I bought the navtool for 200 the other day on the memorial day sale and my mimicsx2 board is on the way. I just need to buy the touchscreen overlay now and I'm good to go.

What are you going to hook up?

I'm going to hook up my iPhone and display it on the screen. Yes, the Mimicsx2 board is hooked up to the touchscreen overlay and connects via bluetooth to your phone in order to use the touchscreen functionality. I am using the Navtool and Composite AV cables to mirror my iPhone onto the factory screen.
I may even use my iPad to mirror onto my screen, not sure which one I want to use yet.
I only have the USB input by the way I don't have the RCA cables.
