LoL.
It's modded because the lights on the button can be personalized to whatever you want. Most people are going with a red/amber/green setup and white button lights. Only a few people mod them.
I'm waiting on a reply from OnlyNismo so that I can get my hands on one too.

Just saw his thread on DieselDoug's custom gtr button. Glad to see he's local to me. I pmed him as well to see if he can do it for my button. I'll check to see if he's willing to let me know the part num's for the leds.

The mod requires you to desolder the existing SMD LEDs and then solder new ones on. If you planning on doing this yourself, make sure you have good knowledge with soldering, and also make sure you have a solder sucker.
As for the SMDs, I'm sure they are 0603 SMDs but I can't be certain.

If you have worked with soldering before you should have enough skills to DIY, but i do warn you, there is a chance you can mess up. If you never worked with SMDs don't jump in on the button's circuit on your first try, if you break the circuit or melt a chip you need another button. The SMD LEDs itself are easily melted if not careful. Here are the LEDs i used, (they aren't exact size but they work) For the center LED HERE and 3 for the lettering HERE (use these links as a reference, you need to find the color you need.)
Reference sizes:
Center LED :
Package: 0805
Size: 2 mm x 1.2 mm x 1.1 mm
Lettering LED:
Package: PLCC-2
Size: 3 mm x 2.8 mm x 1.75 mm

I do have skills in soldering. That is the only reason why I plan on doing it myself.
inspector94- you are correct with the LEDs. You need 2- 0805. One for the Center and the other to light up the Engine Letters.
You need 3- PLCC-2 LEDs for the top lettering on the button

Are you sure about the engine letters? i think the middle LED lights that up. I didn't use a GTR button as i didn't like the red button so im basing this off what i have seen.

In this image you can see that both the boards are the same with no second 0805 LED. (Blue is G37 and Brown is GTR). Else i question why there is a middle LED when the GTR has a solid center button.
