Planning a new system
I've grown tired of the average sound quality of the Bose system in the G37 Sedan and am starting to look for upgrades. In the past I had a system that I really enjoyed, but those components aren't made any more. I am here looking for recommendations for similar items.
I am not looking for volume, but sound quality. I do like some bass but don't have to wake the neighbors. My last system included an Eclipse head, Alpine MRP-F450 amp driving Alpine TypeX-PRO 6.5 components, and a single 10inch sub in a sealed box. I really liked the Alpine TypeX speakers because the tweeter was soft. Many of the tweets I listen to in the store sound brassy or harsh to my ears and give me a headache after 10 minutes.
I still have the Alpine amp - MRP-F450. It is 70x4 RMS at 4 ohms. I am thinking about buying a Rockford P300-10 sub. That leaves the main components.
Any suggestions on current speakers similar to the previous Alpines that would work with the amp I have? Again, I need the tweets to be soft/smooth rather than brassy and harsh.
Also, can I still run the rear door speakers for rear fill (and maintain fade) with the stock amp?
Thanks for your opinions in advance.

if you want decent sound quality I would recommend a sound processor over a basic line out put converter.
I would not run rears. The rears sound terrible and you wont be able to hear them.
whats your budget?
Do you want co-ax? component?

I thought we didn't need a line converter since the Bose head puts out low level, full signal.
Components are fine. I was planning on using the adapters that allow me to use the 6.5 components.
Budget is around $500 (somewhat flexible) for the sub and speakers.

Your budget is really low. Your best bet is to add a sub and amp with the Audio Control LC2i 2-channel line output converter for adding amps to your factory system.

Ok, that is the budget for the componet speaker and the sub. I know if i need a sound processor, it will be another $500 or so. Plus install. I'm just looking for speaker recommendations. I already have the amp for the components so I don't have to buy that either.

Either way I would still tap into the signal before any bose processing.
you need a sound processor if you want to mess with eq'ing or time alignment.
I've always loved CDT mids a tweets. Im currently running ES-6 mid bass and I love them. Ive ran the CL series and had decent results.
Id recommend Infinity reference or type R for the budget
