Updating the Navigation Question

Are there any programming changes to the interface if I update from the 2010 map DVD to the 2014 map DVD?

Or is it data only update?

I have an 08 as welll and I updated to 2013 navteq, however, this is a dealer install so I would have to ask them if there were any updates to firmware other then maps itself.
