Used amp question

I found a somewhat older amp that has been in storage and is priced well. I have 2009 Coupe Bose non-Nav. JL e4300 is the amp. The specs say it handles 2 ohm. Current plan is to leave Bose speakers in and replace as funds permit. I have a powered sub in trunk that the installer tapped the signal for off the right rear 6x9. If anyone could help with these questions if really appreciate it:

1. Anything in particular to look for when buying used amp that'd help me make sure it works right?

2. Would this amp be fine to use with the stock Bose speakers for now?

3. As I understand, if I keep the Bose speakers for now I need to run them in series to the new amp - is this correct?

4. The tapped signal for my sub currently runs from the bose "woofer amp" and as I understand that signal comes in from the main Bose amp. Once I replace Bose amp (whether with the e4300 or something else) can I run that signal straight from the head unit to the sub or should I get a 5-channel to use the dedicated sub channel?

Thanks for any help.

I had subs in my old infiniti with bose. I ran a new amp with the subs straight to the battery this is probably the best thing to do. I'd keep the factory amp with the stock speakers. Make sure you can test it before you buy too.

1. Unless your car is wired for an amp...there really isnt any way to make 100% it works. Just buy it from a person you know or some what trust.

2. The amp will be fine. Im pretty sure the bose speakers are 2 ohm.

3. Yes, run them in series

4. I would tap in to the signal before any bose processing is done.

Thanks. On #4, there really won't be a need for the "woofer amp" since the "new" amp will power the rear shelf and my sub is already powered. I could keep the tap on the right rear one but I'm wondering if I could run it differently so I don't lose the right rear speaker or if I'd need a 5 channel amp.
