Question re if installer made mistake

A month or so ago I had a RF P300/10 powered sub installed. He said that he tapped into wiring in the trunk. Having spent hours searching these forums on different audio issues I realize that he could've tapped into multiple places but at the time I didn't know enough to ask where and I doubt the guy would even remember the install. It was a bad experience to say the least. I recently discovered after a heavy rain that he drilled improperly through the firewall and the result was significant rain leaking into my driver side floorboard.

But I also recently discovered last week that my right rear "woofer" isn't working at all. My question is - is this a usual result of tapping into some wiring in the trunk or was this also a mistake?

Thanks

You said it yourself.
"he drilled improperly through a firewall"

Sounds like a faulty install to me. Take it back, if the installer can't do it without compromising the integrity of the car, then he should tell you he can't do it.

Thanks. I realize I wasn't clear. I know the drilling was a mistake but I am wondering if it is normal for a rear woofer to no longer work if wires are tapped into in the trunk area.

Are you talking about the ones preinstalled on the rear deck of the back window? Yes it is normal most people who followed the DIY spliced into the Bose amp wires located in the trunk. You're essentially routing your oem wiring to your new amp/sub.
