Question Need help with Stealth cord radar hookup.

About 3 1/2 years ago I ordered a stealth cord and hooked my radar detector to the plug behind the mirror.
I ordered a 12" long cord so I could wrap it once around the mirror post so the detector would hang from the cord when and if the suction cups let loose. I figured this would save damage to the detector and the inside of the car.
This worked well until last week when the detector came off the w/s. It still just hung from the cord, but one of the (2) stealth cord wires came out of the plug, in the back of the mirror.
I can't seem to figure out where this wire pushes into the mirror plug.
I pulled the plug out of the mirror and tried pushing the loose wire into various holes in the plug.
My only success was when the detector started but stayed on when the engine was shut off.
I was hoping some owner has this setup and can tell me where the wires go into the plug or take a picture.
I went onto the Stealth Cord web site and they are no longer in business.
Thank you for any help.
Tom

Taken from a DIY on this forum:

"The red HOT wire from the tap goes with the BROWN wire in the harness. This will allow your radar detector to draw power only when the car is on. The black GROUND wire from the tap goes with the BLACK wire in the harness"

Not sure Stealth cord wires are the same color, but you only need to know that the cars wires are: Brown = Hot and Black = Brown

Hey that's me!

There's a DIY explaining the wire tap install. Look it over and PM me if you have questions. It explains there the wires go.

Thanks for the good information and the great picture.
I'm going to try and hook it up after lunch.
The only other question I have is that the Stealth Cord wire end that came loose is just a stiff piece of thin wire. was there originally some type of probe at the end, that may still be stuck in the plug?

I hooked up the cord myself back in 2010, but my memory fails me as far as what I did or what the end of the wires looked like.

Thanks again,
Tom

the pins at the ends of the wire will help you a lot when installing this cord
