Phonebook Behavior

In my 13 ( nav) when I go to phonebook it's greyed out if the car is in motion.. when stopped I can select the number and push to dial through the sterring wheel.. the Quick dial funtion does work in motion.. seems kinda of silly.. is this normal??

Yeah, many of the touchscreen functions are disabled while the car is moving. You'll have to use the voice commands.

Yea this is a common retarded safety feature. Even worse when you cannot change navigation options when in motion.
As said above, all voice commands will work though or can do a brake bypass of some sort

It's unfortunate that Infiniti has chosen not to implement the same on screen warning option to bypass this, like the Euro vehicles and Garmin.
It drives my wife and kids a little crazy that they can't type the name of a POI without me having to pull over and stop the car. Saying the name of POI's is an unrecognizable feature of voice commands.
I just ordered a plug & play part ($130) to get around this. No cutting wires. It should arrive Friday or Monday. Shipping from Cali to Ont. Canada. PM me and I will follow up with you after I install it.
We can't discuss it openly on the forum. It is against the rules to discuss the how-to's of bypassing the Nav, Phonebook and Video safety features.

Edit:
Installed Installed the Beat-Sonic TVK-56 DVD and NAVI Control Module today...30 minute job. No more annoyance of blocked out commands while in motion. My wife can freely enter Places/POI's, and search the Handset phonebook, while we are travelling.
Why oh why couldn't Infiniti just issue an on screen warning like Garmin and European brand vehicles with Nav systems?
