Adaptive cruise control

Does any one know if i can add this option on? My car has everything besides the tech package and I do lot of highway driving and could really use the adaptive cruise control feature.

Has anyone added this option on post car purchase and if so can you post some details?

No, you can't add on the features of the tech package like ACC. Actually to be correct, you probably could add it but it would be extremely exhaustive installation and prohibitively expensive. You'd come out way ahead selling your current car and buying a car with the Tech package.

Seriously considering this.

Blast from the past thread but has anyone accomplished this on their cars?

I’ve seen some local wrecked G37’s and was wondering if the transfer of needed parts and possibly a PCM update is doable.

Your thoughts please.

Six years later and the basic idea is still the same: it likely could be done, but would be cost prohibitive and extensively time consuming with no absolute guarantee that it will work correctly. It is not as simple as adding the radar sensor and calling it a day. Just about all of the electronics in the car will have to swapped out (BCM, ECU, gauge cluster, steering switches, wiring harnesses- to name a few).

As much as I like and use cruise control- especially helpful in known speed trap areas- I would not recommend anyone to consider this project. The risks outweigh the reward, IMO.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I had a feeling that might be the case in that there has been just about ZERO threads/posts for over six years directed at this subject. I have a '08 Coupe S and lately I've seen several '08 Coupes for sale, and mainly "S" models that have the tech package and wished I had it on mine. But I'm realizing that it's just not worth it even though I'm fairly good at swapping or adding components. I have slowly found out with the G37's the factory tended to not have a "catch all" wiring harness installed on them that would've allowed you to install some add-ons later if you wanted to.
