Music Box removed?

Hi new here, I have done searches. My 2011 G37 had Music Box.
But my new 2013 does not. Dealer said infiniti got rid of this option for legal copyright reasons.
The Nav screen still shows HDD Navigation at the start but no Music box option anymore
What is going on?
Is the Music Box still there just has a software update to hide it?
Is there a way to bring it back?
Thanks in advance.

Music box is gone and not coming back... Mid MY of 12 it was removed.

Its a HDD nav meaning not a disc.

But Is there still a hard drive in the radio?
Maybe there is a way of re-enabling it.

In the radio, no.

I've played around many hours in ConsultIII and III+ to no avail...

I'm sure there is still a hard drive inside the headunit. The navigation maps are still stored on it. It must be a firmware disable.

Yes, it is gone. I was surprised to find this out because my '12 has it, but ones bought later in the year did not. I'll bet the hardware is all the same though, there may be a hack to get it back.

That's what I am hoping, I will have to keep poking around maybe someone has hacked it.

How ironic is this; I've had the car for almost 18 months and I've yet to play a single cd in it. I don't even know if the cd player works.

I wish this music box nonsense could be used for storing mp3's.

Basically that's what it does, but you have to rip your own cd's onto it. The dealership guy told me you can load .wma cd's onto it also, but I haven't tried.
