Firmware system update for 2009-2007 Models?
I just dropped my car off 2009 G37S Sedan at the Infiniti dealership to get my steering wheel replaced due to peeling on the trim and also the 7-AT update. They lent me a 2012 G37 for the next few days and I noticed the navigation system is so much more clear (HD?) and looks completely different than mine. I've been trying to search through all the forums regarding an update and found nothing. This has got to be as simple as a software update (disc) right? Has anyone ever successfully updating their navigation firmware system to the 2010-2012 models? I don't mind paying the dealership but wanted to know if this is possible? I asked the guy at the dealership and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about, but now after driving it there's a big difference. I know its possible to update the maps, but I want to update the software so it's clear and new like the 2010+ models. There has to be a way!

I too have been wondering the same thing. If you find any information keep us updated, and I'll do the same.
I would think that the screen would have to be replaced as well as the cd drive to read dvds.

You need to swap the screen and radio. A member on this forum updated the Nav unit. Search and you will find it. According to person who did this mod, he needed to make changes to the wiring. I think by doing this you will also lose auxiliary ports and dedicated iPod port in place of usb port which has to be added. All you need to do is find a 2010+ donor.
