Just picked up my 2013 g37x and an iPhone 5. Tomorrow I will test a samsung galaxy s3. The straightforward "connect" via the settings menu didn't give me full functionality. Phone book didn't display and no music. However, after some digging I attempted a solution and have full functionality. Phonebook, call history, audio controls It worked the very first time. Essentially, you have to pair the iphone 5 as an audio device and not as a phone. In addition I have the phone connected via the USB/Lightening adapter. I'm not sure if this will help anybody else... I'll update with the exact steps tomorrow morning:

Re: iPhone 5 Bluetooth issues with car
Dec 22, 2012 8:43 AM (in response to maxmaxie)
Had issues with my iPhone 5's bluetooth streaming audio connecting to my '12 Maxima's nav system. Here's the fix:

1. In iPhone 5: SETTINGS>GENERAL>BLUETOOTH>MY CAR>FORGET THIS DEVICE then turn off bluetooth

2. In car PHONE>CONNECTED PHONES>DELETE (all phones)

3 in iPhone 5 GENERAL>BLUETOOTH> turn on bluetooth

4. In car PHONE>CONNECT PHONE and let car search for phone and enter YES and phone pairing code 1234 to pair PHONE

5. To pair streaming audio, in car PHONE>CONNECT PHONE answer NO to connect streaming audio, enter pairing code 1234, then OK.

Should work.

Apple's media propaganda backfired. I don't have an iPhone probably will never do because of that.

I do too. It's almost 5 minutes or 30 seconds....I've tried CableJive's Dockboss hooked to OEM cable via 30 pin and then USB to iPhone 5 but music just plays through phone. Whyyyyyy. I wish Steve was still around to fix this...though if there was a lighting 5 pin extender cable...that'd solve all our problems.
