Blendmount & Escort 9500ix is Rattling, anyone have same issue?
Installed Blendmount and it is awesome. Also hardwired it to rearview mirror
OK, the mount itself is great and didn't rattle the first day, or maybe the road was smooth, BUT now I have an annoying rattle that I can't quite pinpoint. It's bugging the heck out of me.
It is from the Radar. If I put my hand around and hold the radar firmly, it goes away.
Also, if I push the black clip on the Blendmount (the one that lowers the clip that your radar is attached to, and I hold it for a few seconds so that the Radar is not touchin anything at all on the TOP of the unit, it goes away.
Anyone have a rattle issue with thsi set up and fix it?

NO, what double sided tape? Only came with tools, Mount, and (2) rubber/padded pieces, BUT it specifically said those were used to adhere to the actual Metal on the mount (where your thumb pushes it to get the radar on the piece with slots in it) because it said in direct sunlight the metal mount can get very hot!
It does have 1 pad on the actual mount that Hits the top of my Radar, but not very well. It only makes contacft with the detector about 25%.
I think the NOISE (Rattle) is coming from the metal bottom clip that the radar slides onto, when my 9500 is inserted into that piece, there is some wiggle room from Left to Right, and I think it is vibrating the Radar detector. The mount itself, does not rattl at all, as I took off the radar to test it.
I read on the internet that some put electrical tape on the tab on the mount that slides INTO your radar to make it thicker, then they poked holes where the slots with are with an exacto knife. Thisapparently makes the radar fit more Snug, and have less play. I THINK this could be MY issue.
It's bugging the S$#T out of me though. I have to fix it.I took out instruction RIGHT NOW and looked through everything that came in kit, no doubles sided tape, BUT, that's easy to fix! Where exactly did you put YOUR double sided tape???

Shadow, so you use a thin piece of Double Sides Tapeon the MOUNT Itself? (on the area that slides into the Radar. Then leave the TOP of the double sided tape with the backing still on so it can slide .Wouldn't that make it too thick for the radar to slide into the mount and lock into place?????????????
Also, isn't there 4-5 small rectangle grooves on the MOUNT itself, the ones that allow the radar to lock into place in the Mount. Do you need to trim through those with an exacto knife, or do you just put a small Length of tape, like 1/4"?
Clarify in more detail. Do you stick the tape on the TOP of the metal tab on the Blenmount (so the smooth sideof the DST you didn't take off is facing UPWARDS), OR do you stick the DST to the BOTTOM of the metal tab the radar slides into so the smoothside of ther DST faces Down?
How long is the piece of DST covers that Tab? do you cover 1/4, 1/2, or ALL of the Tab on the Blendmount?????????????
