I have a 2012 G37...is there a way I can charge my iphone when the car isn't on?

If I'm not mistaken, the lighter function goes off when the car is off.

Can't charge with the car off. You have to at least push the start button once (without stepping on the brake/clutch of course).

It charges through the USB port but only while the car is ON (not necessarily running though).

I'm sure there's a way to wire in a USB port off the fuse box.... there's got to be a hot fuse in there, somewhere.

While we're on our wish list, we can we have a way to stream quality sound music through a Bluetooth connection on the 2009. Or have a stable connection that charges the phone while playing music.

It's little things like this that ruin the experience of the car.

Quick question, why would you want to leave your iphone in the car while you're not there?

The cablejive adaptor has been working well for charging my iPod. If you haven't you may want to look into that. I'm sure it works similarly for the iPhone.

That would be great, because the USB port is in just about the most stupid location. I can't understand the rationale for that design.

And second to the answer... the port only has power with the ignition partially on. Which is annoying, because I only use my cell phone in the car, period. (I hate cell phones.) And that means I have to bring it into the house every few weeks to charge up.

The G is a fantastic driver's car, and there are some wonderful luxury features. But the simple things... USB Port location, no mini-jack, no heated steering wheel, the most lame cupholders known to man...

Uh oh. I'm ranting about my car. Sorry.

I've got an iPod Touch in my 09 connected with the Scosche passPORT, it connects between the Infiniti connector cable and the iPod and allows an 09 to charge a newer generation Apple device.

I do leave it in the car, as it's not my phone... sort of overkill for a music player, but that's all I've got. An 8GB Nano with a busted screen off eBay for $15 would work just fine.
