Question software upgrade

Hi guys,
I noticed that the latest G37 has better software and colors on the dash screen. I have 2008 g37. I am planning on upgrading the navi system in the car, will it also get me the new designed software for ipod and others on the screen like in new g37 or just the maps??? Just curious.thanks

The newer G's, 2010+ models have the higher resolution with white/blue theme navigation. Upgrading the software on the 08 will not change the theme or resolution at all. You need the 2010+ higher resolution hardware i.e. physical screen/harddrive unit etc. to see the difference. Also trying to swap out an 08 for a 2010+ navigation would not be very cost effective at all if you are thinking of that route unfortunately.

Well said. It's not really the hardware that's not cost effective, it's more the labor that'll kill you. That being said, it's not like it hasn't been done. I believe someone on here (I think his sn is ModMe or something like that) has already done it. If you know what you are doing, you could take a crack at it. Either that or pay Infiniti thousands of dollars in labor to do it for you. Or perhaps a third party shop could give it a whirl.

As much as I would love to have the updated unit, it's just not worth investing the money and time IMO.
