Scosche Fail

Scosche Fail
So I have an iPhone 4S and a iPod 5th Gen and I leave my iPod in the car hooked up so i have my entire library right there and don't have to deal with uploading all my songs to the hard drive. Now I ran into the problem that the wire does not charge my iPod or iPhone, which I knew, so I went ahead and ordered the Scosche adapter. Hooked everything up and still no charging. Looking on the packaging, it states its intended for iPhone 3G, iPod touch (Gen 2) and iPod nano (Gen 4) so this may or may not be my issue, but either way, Scosche doesn't charge what I need. I've done a fair amount of searching and haven't run into a conclusion. Maybe I'm blind but I didnt see it. I saw a guy recommend the BrandMotion wire, but I'm not sure if thats what I need or not. Basically what adapter do I need to order so it charges my iPod 5th Gen?
Thanks in advance!

Works here but only if I hold the Scosche and bend the iPod 'forward', sorta V-style. As long as it's bent forward the charging works. Otherwise it's still connected to the head unit and playing music but not charging. So now I have an elastic on it and jammed in the armrest console so that the lid keeps it bent forward. What a bloody pain but it works for now.

+1. Not only does it not lock into place, it's not even a tight connection. I don't even have to hit a bump to dislodge it, the slightest curve or acceleration or deceleration pulls it loose as well. I'm hoping that someone comes up with a solution that locks the adapter into place so I can throw this crap away. Worst $29 spent ever.

I just bought the Brandmotion iphone charge converter -- this seems like a winner -- 1) it's an extension cable AND a charge converter, 2) it locks in place.
Scosche is crap unless you drive in park.
Will post my personal experience with Brandmotion when I receive it -- doesn't matter if it's $35.00 shipped if it works and does what it's intended to do flawlessly -- I've learned to appreciate that in products I purchase lately.
