G37 Radio/audio deck/unit hard drive change
Hey All,
Have read that the audio console which includes the jukebox comes with an internal hard drive.
I have an 08 sports coupe direct from Japan which has unit all in Japanese and unlike the US version doesnt have a language selection!
I have managed to convert the buttons and speedo cluster to English, but am now looking to do the same with the sound system.
Have opened my unit top and bottom but cannot see the drive so if it exists am thinking it will be wedged between the board and CDROM, which I wasnt keen to pull appart.
If the drive does exist, does anyone know if the language is also stored on it?
My unit also has 10 connectors as opossed to 7 the US model has, so cannot do a direct swap, but am hopeful that I can change the drive and achieve the same.
Amazes me why Nissan/Infiniti dont use same units worldwide allowing with simple software config for tweaks to each region.
Any help or input would be appreciated!
A few pics of my unit below attached as well.
Thanks.

The hard drive is buried deep in there. You have to remove the CD drive and get to the lower lever to see it.
I'm not sure that the language files are stored on the hard drive. And who knows if a hard drive from a different unit will work, especially if they are from different regions. But its worth a shot i suppose.

does anyone know the difference between the US G37 audio unit models?
I have found 3 different models so far. Are they all 6 disc? plugs on back seem same so appears they are the same!?
25915 - JK64A
- JK60B
- JK60A
On the flip side my Japanese model is a - JK05C.

paulsid, I too have been looking into this... skylineaustrailia(dot)com had quite a few folks trying but non were successful but this is not to discourage you.
Some guys were able to access the language files but nothing came out of it.
Logically it makes sense to just swap drives or change the language files but clearly theres more to in than that.
However, I am interested in knowing how you went about changing the Driver cluster (Red LCD Screen)? Got a 09 250GT.
