WTF? No composite audio/video inputs anymore?

Hey guys. Just traded in my '08 S Coupe for a 2012 xS sedan with Premium & Nav, and after I got home I noticed that the inputs are gone!!! NOOOOO!!! I used them all the time! Why are they missing? The cutouts are there but they are filled so it appears that it may be an option. The salesman told me that he had yet to see any 2012 with the RCA jacks. Any ideas guys?

Those suckers have been gone since the 2010 models. Sorry bud, even those cut outs are just there to fool you. Nothing behind the blanks...

I am curious as well what you plug into RCA jacks. I can't see any reason to have them in this day and age.

You can plug your phone in using RCA inputs, even though most new devices are HDMI compatible. I'd take RCA inputs over just a stinking USB port. Lol

^^ whys that? the USB port gives you the line out level which is the cleanest sound and its also delivered digitally to the HU not through analog cables. it also charges your phone and allows you to change songs on it with the steering wheel controls. i would love to have USB in my 07

I understand OP's pain, as I think at least a stereo headphone "IN" should be included. Not all people are using iPod or USB sticks, some want to use other devices with just the stereo out.

Another thing that bothers me about 2012 G - what's with the Compact Flash reader?!!!!!!!!!!! 1999 called - they want their memory standard for digital cameras back! Jeez, if you want to use this antique format for the memory at least put another USB port and/or SD card reader there.

The only props I have to give to Infiniti - is moving CF reader from the center console to the dark and murky place by the steering wheel. It belongs there.

Hey guys. Thanks for the responses. I actually have an iphone and i used the apple composite output cable to watch TV in the car using Slingplayer/Slingbox. I also used it to watch youtube videos while on trips. I didn't use it for music at all. I have a dedicated ipod for music. This is a big deal to me because I liked having the football game on in the car sometimes and now I'm confined to the phone.

Ahhhh I see now. Glad you're in Texas watching those games while driving! Personally I just listen to them on XM then watch when I get home! lol

Anyway I was looking at a new system for the Z and they were asking me about what type of plugs etc I would want with the system, now I know why (Iphone, RCA etc etc).
