You can't copy handset contacts directly to the Navigation Address book. It would be nice if it did so we could apply the addresses in our handset to the Navigation destinations.

To copy a contact from your Handset Phone Book to Vehicle Phonebook:
- press Phone
- select Vehicle phonebook
- select Add New
- from Handset Phonebook
I think this is somewhat pointless because the car and phone will always sync-up the contacts from the phone anyway.

If 'Auto download' is enabled then the handset phonebook should sync automatically when pair ( bluetooth connection established). It can take a while, the first time, depending on the number of contacts on your handset.

You understand that the contacts don't actually transfer to the car? They sync in a manner that it reads the contacts currently residing on the handset and they appear under the 'Handset Phonebook' item of the phone function in the car.

Ok thanks, one more question? What is auto download, is it on the phone or the car?

Auto download enables the car to check for contact changes on the handset and upload them to the car automatically when the phone pairs.
Settings > Phone > Auto Downloaded > ON

I have never been able to see contacts from my iPhone on my 2009. Maybe 2010+ can.

Hi, there is no auto download option in phone settings? Maybe newer version has it?

It's possible that the 'auto download' feature was added in 2010+ models when Infiniti did an overhaul the the Nav GUI and screen.
Do you have a 2009 Cellular Phone Owner’s Manual that comes with the car?

I have tried multiple times and I have never been able to pair the contacts from my iPhone 4 to my 08' g37. The PHONE is paired and I am able to make and receive calls, but I can not upload my contacts even once let alone auto sync.

Should it work or is this a known issue? On the Nav screen I go into Phon, Phone Book and try to download all, it says my PIN is 1234 but nothing ever pops up on my device. where am I to go on my iPhone to put in the 1234 other than Bluetooth in options?

Thanks,

Shane

Maybe a Nav update is required that may help you out with your Iphone 4 phonebook.

This just looks like it's a maps update. That's why rpm&my_G35 said it MAY fix the problem.

Ya that's the thing don't really want to spend $135 on the update if it's not going to work?
