im having the same problems. got a g37x 2011 w/o nav and an iphone 4s. i had the old iphone 4 and it worked flawlessly connecting to bluetooth, but ever since I upgraded to iphone 4s my connection is garbage. the phone always connects to the car but never seems to work right. i noticed the 4s isn't an authorized phone for the vehicle. any suggestions?

on a side note, how are you guys audio streaming via bluetooth? and why can I not figure it out?
its cause i dont have nav, isn't it!

I have this issue with my 2011 xS and iPhone 4, haven't been able to figure it out. It's intermittent, when it doesn't connect what I do is select 'My Car' on iPhone interface to connect.

Also has anyone experienced weird clicking at times when having Bluetooth convo? Kind of sounds like interference or 3G issues.

Did you get your contacts to sync or upload from your iPhone to the in dash phone book; it never prompts me for the 1234 PIN on my iPhone and thats as far as I get.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 and 08 G37S. Wouldn't always connect when I started the car. The way I made it connect was just to go to the settings screen - then it connected.

My new iPhone 4S connects first time, every time.

I don't believe you can get contacts off the iPhones (haven't found a way yet). When I was looking at Mercedes, their bluetooth systems worked the same way, and the guy at the dealer said drop a vCard on the flash drive, and that'd work to upload contacts...not tried that on the Infiniti.

I had this problem with iPhone 3G using iOS 3/4 and now on the iPhone 4 using iOS 4/5. Going to settings connects if it does not automatically connect.

I just purchased a 2009 g37x coupe and I seem to have the same problem with connecting on a regular basis with my iphone 4. I agree it sucks having to remember to adjust settings on my iphone each time I get in the car!!! Hopefully we figure out a better workaround!!

I initially had some issues connecting my 4S to my 2010 when the phone came out. I paired it up with both the Bluetooth Audio device and the phone, and it works most of the time. Sometimes it bugs out, though that's probably the car's issue. Just keep trying, it will eventually start working on it's own.

Freedom loving Americans use Android. Live free or Die, use Android yeahhhhh!!!! No, honestly, I would rather die than use an iphone. Why someone chooses accept limits in both software and hardware is outside my realm of understanding.

I love how helpful your post is to OP.

Oh wait, it's not. He has an iPhone; deal with it. And besides, Androids are like Lamborghinis: they're just trying too hard to be edgier and cooler than Ferrari (iPhone). And with a jailbreak, the possibilities are truly endless.

I know this is an old thread, but my iPhone 4 had this problem. I basically had to turn the whole car off and back on to get it to connect. Also, if the source was not already on "Bluetooth Audio" or on that source within seconds, it would never connect ("connecting to xxx's iPhone" message).

However, the problem has gone away since the 5.1 iOS update. I have had no such issues since.
